Overview
Prototype of a community-driven safety platform to report unsafe spots, visualize incidents on a map, and lay the groundwork for safer route suggestions and local alerts.
Problem
- •Capture geo-referenced incidents with minimal friction while limiting noise and duplicates
- •Balance openness with trust, moderation and abuse prevention at scale
- •Provide clear visualizations and a data model that supports future safe-routing features
Approach
- •Backend API and normalized database schema for incidents, locations and user reports
- •Clustered map UI for dense areas with filters by time window, category and severity
- •Foundations for community features (verification, reputation) and route scoring signals
- •Privacy-aware design: minimal PII, scoped access and clear content reporting flows
Results
- •Functional web prototype with public landing and early user testing
- •Clean, extensible data model enabling future mobile app integration
- •Early concept validation and roadmap for moderation and route safety scoring
